Kira is a certified speech-language pathologist who has worked with children for 15+ years. She is passionate about helping children feel confident in their communication.
Kira specializes in treating speech sound disorders and Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). She has completed advanced training through the Child Apraxia Treatment (CATA) CAS Advanced Workshop, an intensive, evidence-based program focused on assessment and treatment of apraxia. She has also completed Level 1 PROMPT Training, which uses touch cues to support the physical movements needed for clear speech.
In addition to motor speech training, Kira has specialized training in working with autistic children. She has Floortime/DIR training, which is a relationship-based, play-centered approach that helps children develop communication skills, emotional regulation, and social connection through meaningful interactions.
Kira is also the co-author of the Bjorem® Vocabulary: Everyday Words for Speech and Language Deck, published by Bjorem Speech®. This research-based picture card deck supports vocabulary development, language therapy, and speech sound goals across early intervention, preschool, and elementary settings. It is used by speech-language pathologists, parents, and educators nationwide.
Kira is committed to using research-supported approaches to help children make meaningful, lasting progress. She is a high-energy extrovert who loves to make her speech sessions fun and engaging. She is invested in helping parents find ways to easily incorporate daily practice into their routines so their children can progress as quickly as possible.
